im not saying I do.... I was just researching something Im curious about  and came across this and was wondering your pov.... please comment

If you take a look at many societies today, a woman is only valued and considered important if she performs the functions of a man, (while at the same time displaying her feminine attractions to the public). While these women may also carry the immense responsibility of bearing and rearing children, you have to admit that they may still be at par with men in nearly every area of life. The result is the present-day confusion concerning sex role differentiation, resulting in very large numbers of divorces and emotionally distraught children.

http://www.themuslimwoman.com/herrights/womensrights.htm <------- this is only to give credit for the above paragraph

my questions has nothing to do with religion I was just wondering.....with the pressure of working and rearing children while still being a wife a mother and woman all those roles for one person do you believe it contributes to divorce rates..

our need to be on both sides of the fence and have the old fashioned homemaker part of us deep in our bloodlines

please no bashing or drama mamas i honestly just want to educate myself

I DONT THINK THIS IS THE ONLY REASON JUST WANTED TO GET YOUR MINDS THINKING ABOUT THE POSSIBLE CAUSES AND YOUR PERSONAL EXPERIENCES I APRECIATE ANY AND ALL REPLIES LADIES MUCH LOVE

of course its one reason people get divorced...but there are just so many reasons out there that i wouldn't put too much emphasis on this one factor.

I don't think that this is the reason for high divorce rates.  I think pride and lack of communication are the major causes. jmo

Maybe for some woman, but, IMO, the divorce rate is high because of lack of communication, finances, lack of commitment to each other and the marriage, and people jumping into marriage without thinking about what they're doing.

Yep. Have you heard of the "trial marriage"? It is apparently the lastest thing. Poeple get married with the understanding tat in a certian number of year, 4-5, if they dont like being married they will divorce. They wont try and fight for the marriage or anything. If it doesnt work they just go their seperate ways. It really is sad.

Seriously?!  Yeesh...like marriage needed to be degraded even more.  That's really sad.

While I agree with this paragraph, OP. I also agree with what Bonita has said here as well. I know for a fact that pride and lack of communication has been a factor for me in the failure of my marriage. I'm only speaking for myself, not my husband. I know that my pride is a big fault of mine, also not being very good at communicating.

I hear this alot but I really don't understand it.  Could you explain what you mean?  For me it's not a choice at all.
