TO those that breastfeed while pregnant

I am pregnant and I am cramping so much whenever I breastfed my son. Its is really hurting. Anywho its the only way I have to put him to sleep because we don't CIO. I want to call the doctor because of the pain but hes going to say the same thing he did with my dd that I am going to harm my new child. He actually told me I was risking my child for a child that doesn't need my milk. Anywho in January we start with the good health care again, and then I can talk to doctors that are more bf friendly but would you continue to bf your child? I stopped with dd about a week ago, but ds is only 16 months but I don't have anyone to ask that actually knows what they are talking about. I weened my dd when she was 14 months due to pregnancy but  really don't want to do that to my son. Oh and my docotor have been wrong almost every time about everything they say about breastfeeding so I dont really trust them. I have ended up proving them wrong so many times and they are like ooooohhhhh your right.

If nursing is causing you distress with your prenancy I would probably stop or at least limit to that bed time feeding till you get in to see a doctor. I know my DS cut way back for a couple weeks when he discovered the good things that could come through a straw at about that age... Maybe if you divert some of his need all of you will make it just fine.

Good for you on all counts - continuing to nurse and knowing better when your doctor says something inaccurate.

Hope that helps!

Can you call a midwife or LC?

I breastfed with # 2 child while I was pregnant with # 3. Those same types of pain & cramping happened & I ended up having to be on turbutaline for a few months. It was HORRIBLE !! You really might wanna reconsider the breast feeding.  I know it is a special time for you, but...............

been there, done that , and wouldn''t do it again !!

thanks!!!! I am cutting back, my dd has not nursed for a week and that was hard because she nurses more than my son but shes 3 so she will be okay, but ds can only go to sleep with nursing so I have only been doing it right before bed but its hurting me. I am going to get ds some drinks and sippy cups real soon. SO he can start drinking other stuff also. My docs think I should have weened my kids years ago so they are no help.

What is tubutaline? I didnt have to ween dd so I am prepareng myself for it mentally if its necessary but I think I did it more out of fear. *sigh* so many decisions.

Hello FYI, If you r pregnant, It's not  a good idea  to breastfeed..because what happens is , instead of ur unborn child getting all the nutrients, your child that you r nursing is getting all the nutrients..It's really not a good idea to continue to nurse..16 months is ok, to get your child off of the boob..I stopped at 16 months too...and little did i know i was pregnant about 2 months...your child is ready for regular milk.. good luck!!
