Well today I went to the gas station and this guy starts cleaning my windows. He says that he providing a service for the day and will be doing the windows. I had thought he worked with the gas station. So I continue to fill up my tank and then he asks what insurance I have. I tell him and he ask to see my insurance card. I thought that was odd but I gave it to him. Stupid I know. Well then he calls someone and hand me his phone and starts drilling holes in my windows the fix the little hole that flying rocks cause. I was so confused I didn't even know who I was talking to but shes asking me how the holes got in my window, and when and hes just fixing the holes. Turns out shes from my insurance company and she is telling me they are waving the deductible and they will pay for my windshield to be fixed. I didn't even tell him to. Well he was talking so long and I had to go to an appointment and I was mad at me for giving that strange guy my insurance card when I didn't even know who he was. Anywho I don't even know what happend it was all happening so fast, and my kids were screaming but he didn't even finish because I had to go and drop off my kids, but since my insurance payed for it I went back after I was done and let him finish fixing the holes. But the whole thing was soo odd and weird and I just wanted to know if that happened to anyone else ever. Dh says that I should not have given him my insurance card but he was so pushy I was confused. Everything was happening so fast and he never asked to do anything.

They may cover it. Our does I just never had them do it we usually just replace them outselves.
Quoting SammySJ99:I have a rock chip in my window... I would LOVE LOVE LOVE for my insurance to fix it!

Quoting abstractmommy:
That is really scammy and creepy!
"scammy"... opportunistic..
weird.
usually you call a glass company, and yes, they do the paper work for you.
also.. i've have my windshield filled... they are suppose to "fill it" with a sealant... they "fill" those holes.. not drill them out.
sounds like shady. half ass work to me. i would have their work inspected a.s.a.p....
you need a safe windshield... it's so important.
have the work checked missy... just incase.

Most companies waive the deductible for repairs (if you have full coverage).
I know off the top of my head Allstate, Nationwide, Progressive and USAA do.
But this is only if the windshield can be REPAIRED...not to have it replaced.
Something doesn't seem right. You said you thought he worked at the gas station when he started washing your windows. Was he an employee? Also how do you know exactly that he was talking to someone from your insurance and not just someone in on his scam? How did your insurance already pay him for it? Did you sign any paperwork?

I am confused as well...how could someone start drilling holes in your window with your kids in the car and you not do anything?
lol, see I am so not confrontation like that. But I wish I would have sent him on his way.
Quoting LuvmySFSGT:Oh...and I don't let people touch my car. Period. He would have walked up and I would have said "Back the fuck up before you get shot..." LOL.
