OH no another Bfing/FFing post

SO after reading tons of post about how BFing is gross, period.  How Breastfeeding past a certain set age is gross.  How nursing in public is gross....and the list goes on heres my thoughts.

Like them or not fine, I have held my tongue long enough...if you don't see it as gross fine, but if you agree feel free to post

1.  I see forcing a child to wean and take formula or cows milk because MOM wants to(not talking medical reasons) as GROSS.

2.  I see feeding a child formula from birth because you CHOOSE to as gross.

3.  I see mixing powdered chemicals and water, that tastes and smells horrid as GROSS.

IMO if you can't stand the taste/smell of what your child is eatting why are you feeding it to them?  When I've had to mix formula I sure would not lick it off my finger if I got it on there, in fact I immediately washed my hands to get the smell off.  Breastmilk tastes sweet and in fact helps your skin if you get it on it.

Every woman has the right to feed their child what they want, and every woman is entitled to their own opinions. BUT it seems that bashing BFing or anyting having to do with Bfing is ok because BFers are a minority, the VAST majority of moms have FF or FF at some point, so this makes bashing/judging Bfing ok and saying ANYTHING negative about FFing NOT ok.

I will for sure get dragged through the dirt for even posting this because how dare I say that formula is gross, how dare I say its inferior, how dare I say that FFing is gross, God forbid I do that.....yet everyday when I open cafemom I hear that Nursing my son is gross.

BFing/FFing does NOT make you the mom you are.  Bfing does not make you a better mom just as FFing doesn't make you a bad mom.  Bfing doesn't guarantee perfect health just as formula doesn't guarantee death or illness.  Bfing doesn't mean your child will be a genius, FFing doean't mean your child will be stupid.  BFing just makes YOUR child their healthiest, your child their smartest, it gives EACH child their fullest potential, everyone potential for health and intelligence is different, thus so are the outcomes.

Tabi, I couldn't agree more.  Every time I would fix my son a cup of formula I'd gag.  It really is just GROSS.

very much agreed, i nursed my oldest for 15 months when he self weaned, and i am currently nursing my 6 month old... i can understand if you absolutly cant bf, in which case you have to do formula, but if you can, and you just choose not to, because " your breasts are yours" or "i dont have time" or " i like my sleep", that seems gross to me. i cant stand listening to people making excuses for why they chose to use formula, especially if they produce milk and can nurse...FF just seems unnatural to me

I AM PROUD TO SAY THAT I AM A BREASTFEEDING, BABY-WEARING, EXTENDED REAR FACING, CLOTH DIAPERING,  CO-SLEEPING, HARNESS USING, LOVING, CARING MOMMY

check out my store... called Loverbugs... diapers, babylegs, and more

guess I'm gross then. I chose to feed my son formula because I didn't want to breastfeed...simple as that...

but I really don't care what anyone else thinks and I really could care less if you feed your kid breast milk or formula...

Never said you were gross, just that formula is...so that would make FFing gross.  Your child was fed, which is great....doesn't mean I have to like formula

YOu can BF adopted babies, one of very good friends did, BUT no I never said its better to starve a baby rather than FF...heck I FF my older 2 kids after I was given bad info on BFing and thought I had to.  Did I like formula then?  NOPE thought it was gross but at that point I thought I had no choice.

Theres no way for any of us with young children to know in the long run...not unless your children are old and grey do we know how the choices we made for them when young will effect them.  The whole I FF my kids and they are fine line doesn't take into count that formula raises lifetime rates of cancer, diabetes and obesity along with other things....

A bit dramatic don't you think? Even I wouldn't have produced enough milk to feed six new borns at once. Not to mention what it takes to stimulate your milk artificialy talk about cancer risks try the ones tied to the large doeses of hormone used to artificially stimulate milk if you weren't pregnant. Plus you cannot Bf a child you got on two days notice. Grow up people Bf is nice, but FF works out just as well. And fyi my mom was formula fed and is healthy as a horse well into her sixties lol.
