Some of my family came in from out of town for Tahnksgiving and they decided since they weren't going to be here for my real baby shower they wanted to throw me one. Well some of them got me formula but I plan on breast feeding. I was wondering should I keep in just in case or give it away?

I would keep it just in case you should need it!

IMO keep it as backup just in case. I planned on BF both of the kids and my supply didnt come in for DD. Its always to be safe than sorry. Good Luck

Keep it... That way you have it just in case nursing doesn't work out for you....

I would donate it to a church or food bank or womans shelter.

I would hold on to it at least for a couple of months.  You just never know.  You might have to supplement.  If you make it a couple of months with no problems then you might want to donate to a women and children's shelter.

I would keep it for now, you can always give it away if you really won't use it. When I went back to work I found that my job was not conducive to pumping and I started using formula some. You might run into a problem and need it, or you might find a friend in need

my babies did NOT gain weight on bf alone regardless of how often I fed or tried to increase supply.   I ended up supplementing to help them gain weight.  My youngest lost losts of weight, greater than 10 percent of her body weight on bf alone.  supplementing saved her...so keep it, sealed and stored in cabinet for a couple to 3 weeks and plan to donate it WHEN bf goes well.   Cause think in that vein, bf will go well and then I can donate it to someone who needs it.  Don't think of it as the back up plan but as a donation you are going to give when you get past the first couple weeks with your baby and have a tiny bit more energy to go somewhere to donate it.

I would keep at least one or two cans (if different types, keep at least one of each), just in case. Otherwise, donate it to a shelter or something like that.
