My kids beg all day long. They are 6 and 3. All they do is ask for a snack or something to eat. And I mean ALL day long. I have decided to try something today. I have decided to give them everything they ask for. I want to count and see how many times they as me for a snack or something to eat.  I just gave them breakfast about 15 minutes ago. Breakfast included bagles, eggs, bacon, and orange juice. They just asked for a snack (pickles). Let's see how long they go before they ask for something else. Is it wrong of me to give them everything that they ask for?

It is not my place to tell you what is right and wrong in your family, but just a warning, be prepared to have a vicious cylce that is very hard to break if you start giving in to them.

I don't think its wrong for one day.  I would write it all down and keep track of what they don't finish.  It would be interesting to see the end of day results.  You could even make into a learning lesson for the 6yo.

I hear you. But the thing with my kids is this; they will beg regardless. I say beg because that is what they do. They wil ask for something over and over and over again. They get told NO but they still continue to ask. They ask and ask like they NEVER eat. It drives me insane. I wanted to just see literally how much they ask for.

I say go for it... if they're going to beg constantly anyways... it will be interesting to see the outcome.

That's the reason I am doing it. I will put up the list sometime tonight.

idk because my niece is 9 and slightly overweight.  she too will ask for food, but she just keeps eating!  its too much, so my sister has to put her foot down.  No lie, at my son's 2nd bday party on Saturday she had about 4-5 plates of baked ziti, chips, soda and cake before my other sister (her aunt.  her mom was away at a conference) caught on and took her into the bathroom to talk to her without embarassing her in front of everyone
