for the holidays???
ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What makes it bad is i bought things to make my 1st thanksgiving dinner -- i mean EVERYTHING!! and he tells me were going to MD ... i told him a week before that we werent going unless he got the car looked at and fixed ... i didnt think he would! but he did!!!!!!!! I cried all night about my 1st dinner being ruined ... But since he did this , i got some rules to lay down for next time his family pops in unexpected and makes me skip cooking dinner (they do this EVERYTIME they come in!)
i am sorry this happened to you, i would be ticked too, guess you have to put your smiley face on now!
i was, but now that i know my dh's little sister wont be there, im ok about going. man i cant stand her. and then that me and his older sister are ok, that works out better lol.
I'm dreading it a little bit only because my own little family is a bit upset at me for not making the dinner this year. My brother and his wife of two years really wanted the dinner there and said they will be staying home either way, they have six children between them so I can see where it might be easier for them. If I had the dinner at my house my mom would definately opt to be here with us as usual so they would not have had the chance to spend the holiday with her. She's eighty four years old and not in the best of health so I don't know how many more holidays she will be around. I don't want to be a part of other family members not being able to spend the holidays with her and she has not spent a holiday with my brother in three years because they usually go out of town to his SO's families.

Yes. My family treats me like sh*t sometimes. My drama queen sister will be at my dads. Everyone makes me feel bad because DH isn't going to be with me and they talks sh*t about him how terrible of a husband and father he is! (He isn't, he is actually a damn good father, which is why he is not here! He is out of the country visiting his sons!)

yup. i don't have anywhere to go! :(
Awww..If you lived in Upper Michigan you can join us for dinner. :) Do they have dinners at any of the churches or anything near you? Or a senior center for the elderly where you might be able to volunteer and then eat with them? I did that one year when my DD was little and it was awesome visiting with all those gramma's and grampas and she was able to play with some of the kids of the other parents who volunteered to help.

Yeah. Im flying to Reno on christmas because my husband is taking his R&R there shortly after... and Christmas Day was the cheapest day to fly out. And Im staying with my MIL. But we dont really celebrate Christmas, and MIL goes all out... I know DD is too young to care, but Id rather her not be exposed to all that christmas hoop-lah crap. And I dont want to go to their christmas dinner they are planning. How do I get out of this? Ugh. Hate Christmas. Leave me alone- I just want to play on the computer and watch some movies.
Sorry if I offended anyone.
