Old Fashioned Gingersnaps
Ingredients
2 cups of flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 cup of butter
1 cup of sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
Sugar
Directions
Sift together flour, baking soda, cloves, ginger and cinnamon; set aside.
Cream together butter and 1 cup sugar in mixing bowl until light and fluffy, using electric mixer at medium speed. Add egg and molasses, beating well.
Gradually stir dry ingredients into creamed mixture, blending well. Cover and chill in refrigerator at least 4 hours, or until dough is firm enough to shape.
Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Roll in sugar. Place balls, about 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets.(If you have a cooke scoop, I have skipped chilling the dough and used a 1 1/2 tsp. cookie scoop. I just plopped it into the bowl of sugar and swished it around instead of rolling it into balls. They still come out great and it goes much faster.)
Bake in 350 degree oven 8 minutes, or until no imprint remains when cookies are lightly touched with finger. Remove from baking sheets :cool on racks.

YW, I am making some now and my boys keep sneaking them. lol They are supposed to go to Grandma's and my sister's houses tomorrow.
