Anyone else pissed about storkcraft recalls? EDIT in blue

If they are going to recall because of the drop down side they should be replacing the crib. Instead they are sending out a replacement kit so the drop down side no longer moves! I'm short how the hell am I going to get my baby out without climbing on a stool and then being a little off balance picking him up! If anyone read my post from yesterday you can understand how I feel about that whole bit. They should be refunding the money we paid for these crib (I spent $300+ on the damn thing) so that we can go get new cribs with the fold down side. GRRR I'm so pissed about this I really want to do something about it!

EDIT- I've been trying like a madwomen to get in touch with this company and the only person I have talked to is a sales associate at walmart who had the recall list and my model number is apparently not eligible for a full refund! So I really want to talk to stork craft and give them a piece of my mind. I paid for a crib I could easily access not one that would endanger both myself and my baby by my having to get a step stool or whatever to LEAN in and grab my son. I would sue the fucking pants off this company if anything happened trying to do that! (Really I just wouldn't use the crib but you see my arguement.) So since they cannot provide the product I paid for they need to refund anyone in this situations money or provide a fold down side to replace the front! I'm so PISSED!

Have you contacted the maker and see what they can do for you?

I didn't hear about this.  So they are replacing the drop down side with a side that doesn't drop?

I'm pretty sure there will be a class action suit before too long.  Seems to be the way things go a lot of the time.  Sorry it's such an inconvenience to you, the company really should come up with a better solution.  How much longer does your baby have in the crib?

Really! Oh good b/c I've been trying to contact storkcraft but the site is bogged down and I can't open it and their phone line is busy. I just kept reading news articles saying they are sending out free replacement kits. Did you get the full price you paid for it?

I feel ya. I'm too short to get my son out with the rails all the way up. I was given a fisher price crib and I didn't know it was part of the recalls til the other day. I can't return mine so I'm just s.o.l.

No they're sending a kit so you can make the side not drop anymore. I guess basically just screwing it in? IDK
