my 3 yr old has to rip all her books i take them away and then wait a few days give her one back she rips it again. its so frustrating! i want her to have books and be able to be like normal kids but is this normal???? i thought they did this has babies??? i keep telling her only babies rip thier books but its not working!

My DD is two and she rips her books.  Its not all the time, just when she gets in the mood to do so.  I'd take them away if it was all the time.  They make a lot of board books now that are longer and more advanced or you could do pop up books, books that are a touch more resilient.

If she wants a book then tell her that you or someone else holds it for her and she can look at it, try to explain that it's a privelege to hold the books if you can treat them nicely.

My almost 3 & 4 y/o do it...this is what i do, i go to the thrift store & get used ones for them to play with & the good ones i put them up & read it to them at bed time...for now, til they learn...try that. see if it works. Hope this helps

ha ha thought you might like that! seriously my cat is cuckoo all of a sudden, ripping books, eating the computer cord!, on and on..............lets trade for awhile see if we can smarten them up!
