My husband works outside. They were working somewhere today, where the house next door had a pitbull..(not a good neighborhood)..Anyways..The owner wasn't home and the pitbull got loose. It tried to charge at dh cowworkers, So they waved a shovel at it. Then it turned to my dh. It pinned him against the truck, and in order for him to get the viscous dog off him, he had to beat it in the head with a giant metal pin..damn dog is hurt..but my dh is alive and ok..

It is a good thing your hubby is ok, have him call animal control and they will pick the dog up and get it medical attention and they will also get ahold of the owners and make sure they take precautions so the dog does not get out again. That is IF they let them have the dog back.

I hope you are not insinuating that it was mean because it was a pit. There is a huge misunderstanding and misinformation. They are mean because owners make them that way. My SIL has two pits, one pure breed, the other mix, but they are both HUGE for pits, I think they are both like 70 lbs each. They are the happiest, friendliest dogs you have ever seen and she has a 7 yr old son she has had them around since he was much younger, and a baby on the way as well as my son since he was about six mo, if anything they are protective of my son.

My SIL myspace is actually entirely dedicated to the truth about pits and the abuse they endure. My DH family has had pits in the family for generations and NONE of them have one bad bone in their body.

Good, maybe the dog can be rehabilitated and rehomed to someone who actually cares.
