If you had an infant or toddler with the flu...............
Was it easy to tell it was the flu? How did you know it wasnt a cold?
My son was exposed to kids who had the flu at daycare last week, he started having cold symptoms yesturday. but it just seems like a minor cold. But since he was around kids all day friday who had the flu. I wonder if its the flu.
My son developed a fever of 13.5 and then 104.2, he didnt want to eat and acted very lathargic.

Kids with the flu do not always experience vomiting/diarrhea. Usually a good way to tell the difference is if they have a fever. That would indicate a flu more than a cold.

Well he has no fever, and yestuday he was very cranky but today he is playful with a cough and runny nose.
So hopefully its just a cold by reading your responses. The 3 kids he was around all have the flu and one is in the hospital. If it wasnt for that then i would just automatically think he had a cold.
I agree. If they have a fever and vomitting it's most likely flu. My son hasn't had a flu yet luckily but i remember last time I had it, i was VERY cold even though my body was burning up. I was laying in front of the heater with like 2 or more big blankets shivering. It was so hot in my house our cats were actually panting! lol.
Quoting ROXYBOOMBOOM:The symptoms are different in each. A cold is a stuffy nose or runny nose, cough and perhaps a sore throat.
The flu is vomitting, diarrhea, fever and chils and so forth.
