Our basset hound passed away a few mths ago and I was deciding to get another puppy, however I've checked the humane society and they have no pups in my area, so I was looking to breeder pups and wanted to know a durable dog that can hold up to 3 boys.  We have a cat meowing all the time, because he's lonely.  I wanted to start off right with puppies but no Bearded Collies in my area so which one would you all recommend and why.  I cry because my pup is no longer alive and I'm used to a dog always being beside our feet.  I've looked at the AKC boards and CkC boards and was wondering who better to ask then moms.

I am big lab fan. Preferably yellow female labs. They are good with children, easy to train and very loving and loyal. However, before you get them trained you will loose a few pairs of shoes :)

I would like a Golden Retriever because they are one of the easiest dogs to train.  We are not good at training dogs, so we need a dog that is super easy.

I love Boxers! They are great family dogs. My 2 & 3y/o can do anything to the dog and she just takes it. They are listed as one of the best dogs to get with kids.  Try looking at shelters in neighboring towns.

I luv the movie Marley and Me and I saw that and cried.  I didn't know if the temperaments are diff between chocolate labs, black, or yellow labs.

lol! yeah I would say that also for what it seems like your looking for. Labs are pretty much the go to family dog. We had a black lab and she was great!

however I'll always have a soft spot for my husky, not durable in a sense though so that's a no for your family. I'd like to get an old english sheep dog next but we'll see whats in store for us. lol!

i would just go to a pound and get a mutt.  or a rescue.  i would even travel to do it.  i wouldnt go to a breeder.
you just have to know what to look for... the signs of a good dog for your family.

First, i am sorry for your loss.  Everyones differant in the breeds they like and why.  I would look at your families life style and start there is deciding which would be the best fit. You might look at a purebred rescue instead of going to a breeder.

My favorite breeds

Australian shepherd

German Shepherd

Golden Retriever

Sheltie

Corgi

Black and Tan Coonhound

Beligian Shepherd

Rottie

Doberman
