I was just surfing eBay and found adult pacifiers. Now I have seen these for Halloween and such but these are talking about actually using them for "adult babies." What the heck??

Opps. Forgot the link.

There are also adults with profound developmental deficiencies which leave them in a state where they're the equivelent of a 1 year old, mentally, and they need something to help sooth them. I know of one young man who uses a binky. He's 35 years old, but just stopped mentally developing at about 9 or 10 months old. I will have to mention to his caregivers that these are available, if they do not already know of them. WHile it won't maybe make him look less "silly" to others, at least it will fit better in his mouth, and maybe make him more comfortable.

Fetishes, and also people who do drugs use them to keep from grinding their teeth. I think the biggest is ecstasy users.

How sad. I could definitely see it in a case like this. I am a CNA and I have never come across these. I guess I just never thought about it. I guess it isn't any different than Alzheimer's patients that have baby dolls to comfort them when they can't understand their "babies" are now 40-50 years old.
