I will always have my Florida blood running through me LOL. We bought our house in May and all Summer I was waiting for it to be cold enough for a fire. And I now have a roaring fire going. I LOVE IT!!! Oh by the way we bought our house in Texas ( Fort Hood ) since this is where dh is gonna retire from the Army. I have always wanted a fireplace and when dh decided to buy me a house he said I can get me a fireplace and my huge soaker tub and I got both LOL. I love the smell of the wood burning. Ohh I just LOVE IT! I can't wait for my dh to get home from Iraq to expierence this as well, turn off the lights and have a glass a wine and maybe...

Hubby lit ours last night...I am up in Abilene and he has waited for it to be cold enough....It was the reason he bought this house..He has always wanted one... lol..they are nice

I'm right there with you - except that I'm a northern girl born and raised.  We had ours roaring while decorating the house for Christmas today - it's GREAT isn't it!!  Glad you could enjoy yours!!

HAHAH I just read my post I should probably say why I mentioned Florida LOL. Me being from Florida anytime it gets below like 59 degrees I am freezing LOL. So for me that is fireplace weather. I just wish we had snow that would reallye be the icing on the cake.

We're at Ft Hood too but I have yet to use our fireplace...We're from MN, so it's not cold until it's 20 degrees LOL.
