so i have this "friend" that i was suppossed to do a yard sale with 2 months ago, which we were unable to do due to matters that were beyond our control... well, i went over to her house about a week later to pick up my stuff and she said that her friend was going to buy my baby clothes for ehr ds. well, she said she would have the money on nov 24th, she came by my house yesterday saying that she would have the money today, for me to call her this morning. so i call her and she hasnt been answering my calls all day. then yesterday me and another friend go down to a children's consignment shop, and im looking at the baby clothes, and a lot of the clothes looked really familiar...she had brought my clothes down there with her name on them!!!! when i asked her about it she said they werent mine, she had a lot of the same clothes for her 4 yo ds... yet i know for a fact that they are mine... as my ds just outgrew them about a month ago, i mean come on i know what my kid's clothes look like!!! i think she doesnt really have a friend that is wanting to buy them, i think she is trying to scam me!!! what do you all think? should i call the police and report it as a theft?

i honestly dont think that there's anything you can do about it at this point- its been months later, the cops could see it as you "abandoned" the clothing (its been 2 months since you last seen the clothes, even tho you tried to get them back a week later) and since it was in her possesion, its her decision on what to do with them.. i could be wrong. hopefully. so here's a bump.
(i'd take this as a lesson learned and never trust that friend again. )

I wonder how much it costs to take a person to small claims court.
Why does my Pre-Schooler ride Rear-Facing? Because she is not a minimum. She deserves more than that. If we get into an accident, I want to know that I have done everything in my power to protect her. Rear-Facing is endorsed by every car seat authority in the US. It is PROVEN to be safer. Why would I choose to take an unneccessary risk with the most precious gift that I have been given? PM me for more info!
I would wait a little bit and see if she in fact does pay you for them. Its a cruddy thing to do but its possible she sold them at the consignment shop thinking she would make more from them then what you were asking and then just pay you what you agreed to..and while cruddy in some ways still fair as long as she actually pays you for them. My guess is she was told she would be receiving the check for them today and then didn't or something.
Now if this was my friend I would be concerned and wonder what is going on that would cause her to need to try to cheat me rather than call the cops and have her get into trouble for it. Maybe she is doing this because she is feeling desperate for cash for some reason that you aren't aware of. Again not saying its right for her to do so but I would certainly not want to get my friend in trouble over some used clothing especially if that was the case.
well im not sure i can trust her anymore, and i wouldnt care if she sells the clothes, thats not the point, the point is she hasnt paid me yet and is ignoring my phone calls... if she was to pay me, and still sell the clothes, then i dont really care.... but its just the fact that she hasnt paid me... and she's not hurting for money, she just bought a house for 70,000 and she just sold a house too, she has plenty of money...

I don't think calling the police will really do any good. Instead maybe ask yourself what you want. Do you want to be friends with her? Do you want her to return the clothes? Do you think she should get counseling? Or should you walk away and consider it all a lesson learned. At least this is the sort of stuff I would be thinking about.
honestly after this, like i said before, i dont really trust ehr, i either want my money, or i want my clothes back. one or the other. simple as that.

Id file a report and take that to the consignment shop they can help you from there. When you sell stuff you usually have to sign a paper stating that their yours so if she did that they will have that on file
