need help with pie crust

ok so i am supposed to make the pies for thanksgiving and i ran out of shortening for the crust can i substitute margarine for the shortening because i have 1 pie left to do and my husband has the car and wont be home until 10:30 thanks

You could sub real butter for the shortning, but not margarine. You want the solid fat in the crust to melt and create air pockets.. that's what gives you the light flakey crust. If you use the soft margarine, you'll end up with a flat, soggy crust.
