My mil that is. Ok we decided to start rotating holidays because their is to many places to go. Well she talked to hubby and started crying because we wasn't planning on going over there for this one. You know what it is my brothers birthday that's why we planned on going to my moms. She told him well your wife made it clear that we aren't coming over. I want to snap on that bitch. Is it going to be like this every single time I swear she better not fucking talk to me anymore.
well won't it be your brothers every year at thanksgiving time then? What ever if your going to rotate then I guess it doesn't really matter , right? I think it's always best to try and get along with all family members even if it means sometimes feeling a little annoyed. After all they are grandparents to your children and they did raise your DH .

Couldn't have said it any better.

No, it won't...I was born on Thanksgiving Day, my birthday only falls on Thanksgiving Day every 11 years....her brother's just happens to fall on it this year. Do you live in the same town as both families? If so I would try to spend time with both. I maybe celebrate a day early or a day late with one family.
I live close to my inlaws and far away from my family. I am lucky if I get to see my family twice a year. We try to at least visit them on Thanksgiving or Christmas rotating each year. The last few years we haven't spent any holidays with my family because we couldn't afford to travel.
When we do visit my family for the holidays my MIL literally cries when we tell her. We spend EVERY holiday with my husbands family (even labor day) and she doesn't want us to miss even ONE occasion to visit my family that we hardly get to see. So I know how you feel. Some people can't see past their own selfishness.

When my brothers b day doesn't fall on thanksgiving we do it on a different day.. Yes she may be my MIL but I have family also and that's what she needs to realize. It is like this every time she has a problem it is always my fault.
I kno what you mean, My MIL drives me crazy... Im so glad we dont have to go there on thanksgivin she doesnt cook or anything, its just like another day to her. shes not much of a family type person...she doesnt talk to any of her sisters or anything...
but for christmas we or at least my hubby and daughter always spend like the 23rd with her and exchange gifts and go out to eat. Then we spend christmas eve & day at my parents. They live like 3 hours away. so we always spend the night.
