My baby, Kylie, is 7 1/2 months old and I am having problems getting her to eat baby food. Well, I was just wondering what your baby's eating habits were like?? Kylie won't eat baby food. At first she loved it...but then around 6 or 6 1/2 months she just totally stopped eating it. She absolutely refuses. I try everyday to give it to her....she makes a horrible face and then starts spitting it out at me after a few bites. I know its not because the bites are too big..I have tried all different amounts of food on the spoon. She is also sooo fussy all the time and I am worried that its because she isn't getting what she needs...but she refuses to eat baby food. She will eat a BIG bowl of cereal before bed every night and I usually sneak some fruit in there...so that she is getting SOMETHING...but other than that she won't take anything but bottles. I am so worried. I just don't know what to do. My oldest was on a schedule by now...she had fruit or cereal for breakfast....a second foods for lunch...and a second foods and a fruit for dinner...then she had a small bowl of cereal before bed. She had a few bottles in between of course, but she ate 2 or 3 meals a day...and she would snack around all day on those Graduates puff things. Kylie's sleeping schedule is all messed up lately too...she isnt going to bed until really late and then gettng up really early...she sometimes goes all day with only 1 nap if any...is it just a wierd phase she is going through that my oldest skipped? I am sooo worried about her. She IS getting a tooth...but this all started long before that. The sleeping thing has gotten worse since the tooth...i will admit...but the eating thing is what is really bothering me...please help...even just a bump will be appreciated...I gotta figure this out. Thanks in advance, ladies.

my son was a pain in the asss!!! I took him in to the doctor, and the doctor told me not to worry that they will NOT starve themselves...keep at it :)
Thanks. What I am wondering is...should I keep trying to feed her everyday? or should I kinda give her a break...im just kinda lost on what to do...
Have you tried the chunkier foods? My second baby didn't like the pureed I think the textured bothered her so I started giving her the 3rd foods or i would even cook real food for her just mash it up so she could eat it. Her fave was when I made her baby chicken noodle soup, just chicken, noodles and some carrots. Maybe a lil onion powder for flavor.

I don't think its the texture...she ate the baby food for a month or 2 and she loved it...then i bought her a 2nd foods to try and she hated it...ever since then she hates all baby food. Even the stuff that she liked before...like the 1st foods...she refuses to eat it all...she makes a face no matter what it is...and she starts spitting the food back out around the 3rd or 4th bite...everytime.
Yeah, I think so. Also, have you seen those mesh baggie things...that hold foods such as fruits and veggies? I would try sticking a banana or some grapes in one of those and let her suck on it. Pretty awesome...I hope they have them where you live. If not let me know, I will go get ya one.

I actually have one...but I have never really used it...Maybe I will try it out tomorrow...I think I have some bananas and grapes in the fridge...
And as for the real food thing...I can try it...but what foods? like mashed potatoes?? ( I will have to make them with her formula) What else could I give her besides that?? Is my baby really gonna need to be THAT spoiled?? lol
Yeah, try that. My son love on that thing...and he got all his nutrients from the mashed stuff that was coming out of it. :) Frozen grapes are to die for...you can put those in that bag with out worrying, and eat some yourself...they are amazing!
I stuck with fruits and veggies...crackers, cheese, potatos...but I put them all in that bag.

This is what I had to do with my third. She refused to eat any baby food. So I started making her real food and cutting it up really tiny or mashing it. She gobbled it up.

I'm going to try this tomorrow....there is so much variety at Thanksgiving I bet I can find lots of stuff to mash up for her to try...I hope it works...I am really starting to worry about her.
