I want to know if you've tried lemon juice as a birth control!
Ok, so like probably many of you, birth control is an issue in our marriage. Hubby, like most men I guess, doesn't like condoms because they decrease pleasure. Any kind of artificial hormones plunge me into depression. Plus I'm nervous about the abortofacient issue; I don't want to unknowingly cause an abortion. Plus medicine is expensive and we're poor. We used to take turns--every other time I'd use a diaphragm with spermicide jelly, and the next time he'd use a condom. But the diaphragm started causing me UTIs. And natural family planning, from what I hear is not very effective, plus it's pretty complicated.
So we've just been using condoms.
I just found out that for centuries women have used lemon juice as a natural spermicide, and I want to try it. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2002/10/26/lemons.aspx But I'm wondering what the success rate is. Hey, it was tested by a scientist, so it must be good, right?? We really really can't afford to get pregnant at this point in our lives (He's almost done with school.... long story.... we're in a precarious situation at the moment.) So I want to hear from anyone out there who may have tried it! Did it work for you?
Here's the system I read about, and it seems to make sense: Soak a sponge in lemon juice diluted with water and insert before intercourse. After intercourse douche gently with more diluted lemon juice just in case. Remove the sponge after 1 hour.
Just do natural family planning and rhythm method.its a hassle to chart your temp. But at least you're not putting stuff up there.....That's kinda weird to me

If you do that I'm sure the neighbors are going to hear you guys. And no it will not be you moaning with pleasure.
"Oh the pain! It burns! It burns! Get it out! Get it out! No! The sponge filled with acidic lemon juice that is setting my coochie on fire! Get it OUT!'
doesn't sound like fun to me.
Yeah, um no. Have you thought about trying female condoms?
