..........because I REALLY don't want to share my family on major holidays. My oldest is spending her 1st "Major" Holiday away from us...............she's gone with her BF to meet his family in Kentucky (we live in CA) and I HATE HATE HATE HATE it!!!!!!!!! :( I HATE having to pretend that I'm OK with it!! I HATE that this is a sign of things to come (we have 5 kids, the older ones are 24, 21, almst 18 & almst 16) It makes me soooooooooooooo sad & it's just going to get harder as they get older & have their own families. I will NEVER make them feel they have to choose or let them know it makes me sad but .....................damn I wish I could keep it like it was when they were young & Daddy & I were their world. I shudder to imagine what I'm going to feel when I have Grand-kids!! LOL!!

So sorry you feel this way... I'm not much help b/c my son is only 3. Where is she going in KY? I live in Bowling Green, I could keep an eye on her. lol. (thought I'd try to help you feel a little better.)

I do know he's "smeone's baby" & that's why I won't EVER pressure her or any of my children about it. My Mom did that too my DH & I HORRIBLY when we were first married & we hated it. This is the FIRST time for me and it is very new and I'm just very sad. When she calls today I'll be bright & happy talking to her I just needed to vent here KWIM?? :( / :)

I'm a young (but strict) independent Mommy of one (so far). I firmly believe in CIO, front facing, semi-vaccinating, ocassional spanking/time-outs, tough love! Nothing irritates this Mommy more than immature little girls wanting a baby so badly then NOT TAKING CARE OF THEIR OWN! You give us "Young Momma's" a bad name- and we don't deserve it.
