so my friend FINALLY gave me info about one of her friends. basically this is whats been going on. they have/had 2 dogs, like 5 cats and a bunch of other animals. one cat got ran over- died. the other cat got shot with a bb and i THINK its doing good. another cat- no idea what happened, but they think it got shot by a bb as well and it shattered her entire leg- not broke, shattered. they FINALLY took it to the vets and said either put it down or amputate the leg. they dont wanna "kill" it, but they dont want a "gross looking cat" with only 3 legs... so what did they do? kept it without getting it any help for the leg... oh-- for the hurt ones- they did some weird ritual- no idea what its called, but basically you gather with people- whoever believes- put your hands at the bad place (the infection, sore, etc) and chant something and it'll get better... thats what they did for both of the cats that have something wrong with it.
now the dogs- poor guys. during the summer (yea- this has been going on for a while!), they were locked inside of the garage- no fresh water or food. they LIVED in that damn garage- slept there, ate there, shit there, etc. it was never cleaned or aired out. oh- these are 2 big dogs too- doberman and great dane. the doberman has lumps all over his body. hasnt been seen by a vet- the ritual with the hands will "cure" him. the other- the great dane- they've had him for 8 years.. and within the last 2 weeks, he died. they were outside playing and i guess his entire body just locked and he fell/died. i personally think its because they never got any exercise, no good food (fresh food) and when they were finally allowed to go out/play- it was too much for him... but i also question if he- or the other dog- has something wrong with them? the one who died, didnt have lumps on it. the one still alive does.
so reading all that-- you're at a hell yea- call them asap! BUT-- if the humane society gets involved, all the animals they take will get put down. the doberman- cuz of his lumps. the cat cuz of its shattered leg. i think that if they had proper owners, they'd be able to thrive... i mean, the dog had professional training and now cant even sit since he's never really around people!
i dont want them put down, but i dont like/agree with the conditions in which they live in. but i want this shit documented so they dont get another dog. they complained that the great dane was too big, but they want to get a caucasion mountain dog- which is bigger and harder to train. they mainly just want the attention of the neighbors- like oh-wow, look at that big dog!
what other options are there? or am i stuck calling the humane society?
this is the dog that they plan on getting in a few months--

ohh-- a few days ago, they refused to let the doberman in because it was "dirty"-- it was raining here and its paws and back got wet from walking from one house to the next (my friend's friend lives in one house and right next door, is the mom's house) so it was stuck being inside the garage, freaking out cuz it hates the rain. if they wont take the time to clean a doberman- what makes them think they will clean a dog THAT size?
ohh- i dont have all of the information, just the street name, which is a court and has like 12 houses. can i just call and say that i hear a dog crying loudly from a house and i see a limping cat that has the same owners as the dog... oh- and that the family used to have 2 dogs, but they only have 1 now..? (the family just took the dog to the city dump-- its legal in this county. )
