not anyone specific but ..I know I'll get thrashed but here goes.
So I'm not picking on any one person or poster but overall does it bother people to read posts that are full of misspelled words? Or words used incorrectly ? Example ; Sense Vs. Since Vs. Sence (Usually seems to be they are looking for the word since..I don't get it)
It bothers me and depending on the topic it may bug me a lot or a little. I do avoid saying anything about it "Sense" Since I don't want to be called the spelling police etc. now I don't mean just occasional once In awhile hit the wrong key kinda stuff , I have read through posts I couldn't understand because it was all That bad. I have also read through these difficult posts and had the topic be "How stupid so and so is.." .
What is the aversion to the spell check feature? I'll end here and wait for my thrashing . Also it makes me wonder if people also talk that way?
Well if they are messing up since and sense or something spellcheck wont correct it because that is grammer not spelling. Some of it doesnt bother me but when it is all slang spelling of things I wont read the whole post.

It drives me batty, but in all fairness, the spell check will not catch words that are spelled correctly but used incorrectly.
I also do not hold it against people, because I make errors in my typing as well <---like the comma splice I just used there!
Just a funny side note: My best friend and I are both in MENSA. We got tested together. Her IQ is about 50 points higher than mine. She is also dyslexic- severely dyslexic. She has now graduated university and is working as a teacher. She has to send me her curriculum to double check it for errors for her.
Her spelling is so bad that spell check can't help her because it cannot recognize the words!
What always gets me are the your and you're and the to, too, and two. :-D Although there and their are pretty far up THERE TOO. LOL

No I have better things to worry about then how some spells something or uses a word over the internet. Here is my theory if someone is that concerned take that energy, go to school and become a teacher!
I somewhat agree, but moms will say that this isn't a spelling/grammar contest and they're not here to be graded.

Life is too short to be so anal about spelling on a social site like cafemom. Just enjoy the friendship and conversation.
Dear heavens, yes. You would think in a day and age when the primary form of communication involves writing people could do so clearly. Typos are fine, but some posts I completely skip because I can't understand the sentence that is a paragraph long, or horribly misspelled -- it gives me migraines.
Everyone should have a basic enough education to communicate clearly and appropriately.

That's hard to do when you can't understand what the hell they are saying.
