Apparently during the night my grandma hit her arm on the table and somehow ripped her arm wide open!! I didn't even know that was possible!! They were able to stich it up at the ER, nice way to start out Thanksgiving, the poor woman!! Can stiches really hold everything in place?? I'm afraid it will come undone! I'm just worried about her!

Yes, this happens quite frequently. As people age, their skin becomes very thin and can tear easily. I worked with residents in nursing homes and some of them you could barely touch them and their skin would tear.
The stitches will be fine. I am sure you grandma will be careful to not bump it or anything and they will hold.

As we age, the elasticity of our skin goes down and stuff like that cane happen. Sorry about your grandma, I'm sure her stitches will hold up.
The stitches will hold if she keeps her arm still. It's time for everyone to step up and do the work for grandma. God Bless and take care.
