i was just curious to how the item wristbands work at walmart? it says online theyll give out the bands for big ticket items that are limited( for example tv's game systems, etc) and im thinking they may give them out for the GPS systems, which is what im going to wal mart for! lol. so when do they give them out, how early should i arrive to make sure i get a band, etc.. ill be disapointed if i dont get the gps for my friend( she gets lost anywhere outside of the small city she lives in!! lol) thanks ladies!

i'm not sure, it will probably vary by store. but i know the stores by my house are open today i drove past at least 3 that were open when i went out this morning, so you may want to call the store you plan on going to and asking them what time they will give them out and if those will be items they give out bands for.
I'm probably not going to be A LOT of help here but...my fiance works in the electronics dept. at Walmart. Obviously, things will probably vary by store. I don't know about the GPS but I know that big ticket items (big tvs, computers) are VERY limited in stock. He said that customers are planning on arriving 2-3 hours early in order to be at the front of the line for those. When he gets home from work I can ask what the plan for GPS is....like if you need one of the tickets for it or not. :)
My husband works at Walmart and they are open today, so as a previous poster said, I would call the one you are planning on going to and ask them.
Oh, I forgot to add that the sales start at 5 a.m. Our store is open 24 hours a day so....they will have everything ready but can't start selling until 5 a.m.

from what i was told from a walmart customer service person that you can go early but they wont be available till 5 but they will ask you when you come into the store what you are going to be getting and they will give you a number/band and show you where your line is so you can wait in a particular line for that particular item. i am also going for the GPS tomtom and they said that is on that particular list. so if you are going for the gps items then you will have to have a wristband.at least that is what i was told
