My son was almost 1 for his first Thanksgiving..

You can give him some of the soft foods.. (sweet potatoes, mac n cheese, rolls, a few tiny tiny bits of turkey and some stuffing) Just don't over do it, and make sure all bites are SMALL.

If you mush them up they will be fine.

my son is 6 months old, he'll be having mashed potatoes, mac n cheese (i'll be making sure the melted cheese is off the noodle and cutting it small), pieces of a roll, cranberry sauce, and some stuffing. with my daughters first she was only a few weeks away from 1 so she had turkey and some other stuff as well.

w/my son, he's 6 months, i've mashed up green beans and added some water or milk to make them a little more on the mushy side and he has no problem with them.

Honestly, he can practically eat any of it.  Just make sure it is chopped up or mashed depending on what it is.

my daughters weren't old enough for their first first holidays. dd1 was only three months for her's so i doubth she missed anything anyways lol. dd2 was only five months when her first thanksgiving rolled around and i snuck her a nibble of mashed potatoes and a bit of the inside of a green bean from the green bean casserole and i think she got a taste of the stuffing but that was it. now since your son is 9 months, i would think he could have a lil bit of everything as long as it is chewed up for him (if he doesn't have teeth) or in very small peices

You can blend pretty much all of it to make your own style thanksgiving baby food.
