Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis.... After sitting in the emergency room for 10 1/2 hours yesterday cause he couldn't walk on his left leg, after 5 blood tests, finding fluid in his knee, x-rays, an ultrasound, and being transferred to a pediatric ER the pediatrician said there's nothing more they could do for him except give him Naproxim (children's Aleve) and told us to follow up with his PCM. She said his PCM will most likely refer us to a rheumatologist. If he's diagnosed with JRA, this is something he will have for the rest of his life. :(

Have they said they think it might be JRA? Rheumatologists deal with all kinds of auto-immune issues, not just arthritis. Regardless, I hope they get to the bottom of it, can help him, and its not anything life-long.

Then Now

Yes, the pediatrician ruled out all infections with blood tests and she's pretty sure it's JRA. They ruled out injury with the x-rays and the ultrasound. But we still have to see his PCM and a rheumatalogist. If it is JRA he'll have it the rest of his life.
