You may or may not know I've been out of work since Feb 09 due to a mass layoff. I haven't been able to find a job since and unemployment just isn't cutting it! So, I've taken a bartending course and hope to start doing that ASAP. Any Moms that bartend or have? Any advise? What kind of place did you work at and what's the range for tips you would bring home? I'm really hoping this will get me back on my feet!

I bartended at a restaurant and on a Monday, I made $200 plus you normally get a portion of the tips from the waiters. Easily could make $300+ on the weekends but squat if you work during the daytime.

I "backed" into my bartending position....... because I worked with the same company for many years!
I gathered as many positons and as much exprience as I could. I was a book keeper, a food server, a "trainer", a busser, and a hostess...... I even spent time as a prep-cook!! LOL!
On a good weekend night..... I pulled in some really good money as a bartender, and also a food server. (Maybe $100.00 to 150.00 on a busy night).....
