Our first Thanksgiving without dad here....

So, this is my boys first Thanksgiving without their dad here.  He is deployed right now.  It turned out nice.  We didn't really do anything special.  I made only the things they requested.  I usually make EVERYTHING!  But, we kept it simple.

I snapped a couple of quick pictures so dad can see our Thanksgiving.

In this one, I caught my 10 year old eyeing the drumstick...lol.

Awww...I'm so happy you had a good day! Its so difficult for the military families who have a member deployed over the holidays. I remember the year my SIL was gone to Iraq and it certainly wasn't an easy one.

Same story here, but I'm fairly used to it. My 7 year old told my husband to tell work he's coming home. lol! I guess my husband fried a few turkeys for some friends over there, and had a decent meal, what was left over anyways. Our meal was fantastic...I tend to pull out all the stops whether he's here or not.

Thanks ladies!  It isn't the same without him here.  I just really couldn't get into it.  I have my boys though and I sure am thankful for them.

I'm glad you got to have a good Thanksgiving. I'm sorry your hubby couldn't be there. Your hubby and all the soldiers are in my prayers. And so are you and your boys.

Do you cook for anyone else other than you and the kids?  I usually cook so much and I just couldn't get in the mood this year.  If I had family or something around, it may have been easier.  I just kind of felt like it was just another day though.

My mom is my live in nanny, so it was my mom, myself and the two boys.
