Why do bad things happen to good people?

Long story short, my registration is expired (which I already got a ticket for) and my husband wrecked his car...so we have no car right now. We found out that a lady with two little girls and pregnant with another baby who's husband is over seas wasn't going to have much of a Thanksgiving...so we went ahead and used my jeep to go get her and take her home....low and behold...he gets stopped and is getting ANOTHER ticket which is probably gonna cost him even more and now he has to show up in court.....just like I do.....WHY?? It's not like we were using it to go joy riding....we wanted to do something nice for someone! On the one hand I know we shouldn't have used it but that question, "Why do bad things happen to good people?" comes to mind...I just don't get it. Oh, and the worst part...we don't have the money to reregister my jeep or pay for the first tickets....guuuuuurrrrr!!!!! Mostly just venting, if no one replies it's fine, I just needed to get this out. I hope the rest of y'all had a wonderful Thanksgiving =)

I always tell myself, "The bad times will pass....". and they always do.  It isn't easy, but the tough things are what make us stronger.

Matthew 5:45 That you may be the children of your Father who is in heaven, who maketh his sun to rise upon the good, and bad, and raineth upon the just and the unjust.

1 Peter 1:6-7

6 Be glad about this, even though it may now be necessary for you to be sad for a while because of the many kinds of trials you suffer. 7 Their purpose is to prove that your faith is genuine. Even gold, which can be destroyed, is tested by fire; and so your faith, which is much more precious than gold, must also be tested, so that it may endure. Then you will receive praise and glory and honor on the Day when Jesus Christ is revealed.

cornucopia  1360 The Eucharist is a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the Father, a blessing by which the Church expresses her gratitude to God for all his benefits, for all that he has accomplished through creation, redemption, and sanctification. Eucharist means first of all "thanksgiving." - CCC, SE, pg. 343

It may be stormy now, but it can't rain forever.

Because thats life. And except for the wreck (possibly) this is your own fault. So pay the tickets, get the vehicle registered and press on. Honestly theres not much else you can do.

Glad your hubbys ok from the wreck.

Have you heard the song "sounds like life to me" its country and not sure who sings it! WHenever I feel like only bad things are happening I listen to that song!

It's hard to see the good through all the bad! Just remember to still be thankful for the things you have! My son broke our laptop that we had for 4 months the other week and I was feeling the same way, but when I sat there and thought about things I realized a lot worse could have happened. If I made a top 100 things that could go wrong it wouldn't even be on the list.

I am praying for you and your family!

Also the kind act you did was wonderful and I am sure that mom appreciated it!

well, bad things happened to your family twice because you broke the law.  doesn't matter that you were "trying to do good" when you did it, it's still unlawful.  try obeying the rules of the road and there's two problems you wouldn't have right now.

As much as I don't like it you're right.

Don't ever think you're alone! We may not have the same problems, but we all have them...and sometimes it feels like they multiply! I'm sorry things aren't going to well but they'll get better! PROMISE!
