I think she may have broken her wrist...........**updated** reply 12
At her age she is old enough to be able to tell you if she can't wait and needs to be seen...But personally...I would have made her go to the ER...but that just me...I really hope all is OK..poor kid...Healing Light to her....

Try explaining to her that if she doesn't have it looked at she can permanently damage herself. If they bone is broken and heals on its own she may just have to have it re-broken later. She could have lifelong pain if its not taken care of. If she tore anything in there instead of breaking she could still permanently damage herself. If that doesn't work just say, "you are 15 and you are going." I hate doing that when a kid is scared but sometimes you just have to put your foot down. My dd broke her arm in Sept. And aside from the initial break, getting it fixed was the worst part. It sucked having to be the one to take her to the hospital and holding her while she was scared and begging me to take out her iv and to take her home. But it had to be done.

i would wait .at the er all they would do is xray and refer her to her dr.if shes not in tons of pain it can wait

If it were me, I'd take her tonight, no ifs ands or buts. The longer you wait to have it looked at, the more damage may occur. She's a child and its your job to have it taken care of, whether she likes it or not. It sucks that she's hurt but she really needs to have it looked at. I hope she's on the mend soon.
Actually taking her the ER there going to do this, xray if its broke tell u its broke wrap it in a ace wrap give her a sling and tell her to follow up with ortho oh and pain meds.......... so if you dont have insurance Id just wait untill Orthro is open and do it all with one bill! But I hope she is okay!!!
I would be honest with her since writing is important and it is her right wrist and tell her that if she doesn't go it might make it even worse if she were to bump it or roll onto it in her sleep, if it is not taken care of and is in fact broken. Putting off injuries like this could only cause more damage not less so her thinking isn't really rational on this one and as a mom its your job to explain that to her.

This is what they did with my daughter when she broke her arm over summer. She was in so much pain she couldn't wait until morning. I say base your decision on her pain. I hope she feels better soon!
