Me and my mom have a tradition on going shopping on Black Friday every year. Well today I just realized that our bank account is negative and DH doesnt get paid til Monday. I have a check book, so I was wondering if there was any stores that dont process the checks there to see if you have money. Because I could write the check and then when it clears on Monday with the bank then we will have money in the account to cover it. I know I cant at walmart and sams, but what about other stores?

I don't know... But I honestly would advise you to skip the tradition this year. If you don't have the money in your account the DAY you go shopping.. then it's really not worth the risk of getting yourself into a hole just for a few gifts.
Im with the PPs... maybe it is best just to skip it this year. Are you going with your mom? If so, would you feel comfortable asking her for a weekend loan?

Why would they go thru on monday? Why wouldnt they put it in on friday or saturday? I wouldnt take the chance!!! Whatever you buy will cost you 3x's more with overdraft fees! Also, many banks will process what ever is done first... you write checks today, put in the deposit tom. they would process the checks before the deposit. If you go over a certain amount it becomes a crime not just a case of paying overdraft fees.

I think almost all stores do it right away now. I would just ask mom to buy your stuff and pay her on monday it she can.
I agree 100% act like an adult and stay home! If you dont have the money dont make it worse for you! Checks can clear overnight from anystore!

my advice is don't go shopping. If you needed groceries or something I could see writing a bad check, but not for black Friday.
