here is a scenario. no i havent done this, but it always crosses my mind as to if its honest or dishonest.

When shopping for two piece swimsuits or lingerie, is it dishonest to mix and match if its not a mix and match option. Say like you need a large top but a small bottom or vice versa. Just wondering.

ETA*** i have NEVER nor will i EVER do this...It was just a curiosity question that stems from another post about being in the middle between regular size and plus size clothing....some woman have large top halves and smaller butts...others vice versa....so i was just asking.

People that do that make me mad..I have bought PJ's and sets for my kids and I only look at the tops size...get home and find some inconsiderate person has swapped the bottoms for a different size...I TRY to remember to check both pieces now.....

EDIT** I don't think its dishonest as you are paying for it but it is inconsiderate

IMO it is rude.  Don't know about dishonest though.  They sell those things as a set for a reason.  If someone comes after you have switched them and doesn't bother to check both of the pieces, buys it, gets home, goes to wear it they have the wrong sizes.

I think its completely dishonest. If a person cannot buy and outfit the way it is they should opt to buy seperates instead. I've had that happen to me a few times as well and hate it.

to answer your question..changing the stores way of selling is dishonest and if seen you could be charged with a misdemeanor offense..
