I have a very bad flea problem right now. I used foggers i have used one shot flea and tick and im getting nowhere absolutly nowhere. I found a couple on me and im just like enough is enough...And i squeezed the flea and the dumb thing just jumped aughhh..Im so sick of this...I dont know what else to do except call salvation army to pick up all the couches and chairs but wil they clean them? Because i dont want to have them pick it up if its just going to go to another place and they will have fleas.! So if they clean it up i will be happy and leave it at that. however if they dont clean it where do i put my furniture? I will have table chairs for now but i dont care as long as i get rid of those dang fleas. What do i do after i get rid of the furniture? how else can i get rid of these fleas....
please tell me how to get rid of them,
and also will getting rid of furniture cure it all?
I have 4 dogs that live in my house and used to have 3 indoor cats and and I have had to deal with fleas before. I now know exaclty how to get rid of them (at least in my house).. The flea bombs are great (I get the Adams brand) but you have to follow the directions or they wont work. You need to leave every cupboard, door, hiding spot open. Make sure to leave your funiture etc uncovered. While the bombs are going and you cant be in the house for like 4 hours take all of your bedding, laundry, fabrics that you can to the laundry mat and wash them. Since your cupboards are open you will also have to wash your dishes from the chemicals. Put a flea collar in your vacuum bag/canister. If you have animals use the Adams flea DIP... not the flea wash its the only thing that has ever worked for us. You can also get the flea powder and sprinkle that under your beds and on the carpet just as an added procaution!
We have 15 rescue pets and got rid of our fleas recently...I'll admit, it took about $700, but that's b/c we have so many animals. All it took was one coming in with fleas and BAM!! We did have to throw out a lot of things...mostly pet furniture, but here's what we did-
Capstar every animal.
The next day, spray them down with Frontline.
Pour Flea Stoppers on all floor and carpets.
Re-capstar in a week.
Re-spray the next day.
Re-pour the Flea Stoppers.
Two of the cats had to have shots (the two that are allregic to fleas)...the others were fine with the Capstar and Frontline.
Good luck!
