so i have never shopped door busters or anything like that. but i remember seeing on the news last year how crazy ppl went, and some even died!! i will have my son with me, is it too dangerous?? if he is in the stroller, are ppl just going to stampede over us? or is it over-played in the media??

I can get pretty nuts. Just be careful. I do not bring my children along because I'm usually shopping for them.

lol i think it depends on the location. I work at wal-mart they will be having about 10 police officers there to prevent anything bad happening. Stores are really trying not to have any stampedes or violence happening because they will get sued for it, so they are training their associates how to control and react to the large crowd.

I take my daughter with me.. last year someone pushed me and I turned around and told them to relax... they apologized and we went on...

I think the people that are overly aggressive or have reported being "hit" by someone who was overly aggressive are the people that are mad- dashing into the stores the second they open to get that "ONE" thing they 'HAVE" to have... I go just to shop the deals

I would not take a child.  People are crazy when it comes to saving a dollar.  You know if they are willing to trample an elderly person they are not going to pay any attention to a baby in a stroller.

Personally, there isnt anything out there worth taking a small child out on a crazy day like that. Not to mention the TIME you have to go out. Can it be dangerous ?? Yes it can. There are CRAZY ppl out there. I worked retail on year on black Friday ..... i could NOT believe that ppl where actually RUNNING in when we opened the doors, some even fell. There is no way i would take a kid out in that mess.

if you go to a place like walmart or toys r us then yes you will probably get stomped on.

just curious to know why you would take your child shopping at 4am anyway?

Well it is dangerous.. People DO die. And the media does tend to report on those deaths.. (They never report on the success of black friday)

We did take our son out last year.. However it was ME, Hubby, my Mom, my Brother, and his girlfriend. So all of us to watch 1 toddler.. Our trip was uneventful.. no accidents just long lines....

However not everyone is so lucky and you're really just putting your kid at risk by going.. if you do go I wouldn't recommend a stroller as they are not tall and people can/will probably trip over it. You're better off putting him in a shopping car strapped in.. and keeping one hand on the cart at all times.

(Note that we did go out at 4 am but it was just me and hubby. we went shopping with our son around 10 am after he woke up and ate breakfast.)
