WE ARE NOT ALL MEXICANS*LATINOS*

I had an experience earlier today that got me thinking.First of all I have nothing against Mexicans.I am just tired of people that reffer to all Latinos as Mexicans.I mean there are so many of us from many different places. I say we make a game to show people that we dont come from the same place we may all speak versions of the same language but we are really not all the same. Stop calling all latinos mexicans.lol

Tell us about your ethnicity and a little about it.

Im Puerto Rican, We like to dance . We are salseros.The majority of reggaetoneros come from Puerto Rico .Our holiday or special occasion food is arroz con gandules y pernil. We have been granted us citizenship since 1917.Puerto Rican men are very macho. Puerto Rico is located near the deepest part in the atlantic. The Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico is the site of world's largest single dish radio telescope.Our mascot lol is a coqui (tiny frog).We have a slogan 'Yo soy boricua pa que tu lo sepas' wich means I'm Puerto Rican so that you know it'

Hell yeah I call all Latinos Mexicans! Shoot I myself am Cuban and I refer to myself as a Mexican all the time :-)

Thank you!  Back in Ft Myers, FL, I got called a Mexican (which didn't bother me but got me thinking of how many people think all Latinos here are Mexicans when there are so many other Latinos), got called f*ing immigrant (when I have been an American citizen since i was born), got told to go back to wherever the hell I came from, etc, etc, etc...

I am also boricua, from Ponce, but living in IL, missing the warm weather and beaches.  My husband is in the military, will be back from duty tomorrow so that's when we're gonna have our thanksgiving dinner.  I'll be making a pavochon stuffed with mofongo and arroz con gandules.  Thinking of making arroz con dulce too but not sure, maybe if I have time lol.  De que parte de PR eres?????  oh and btw Ponce es Ponce!  y lo demas parking lol

I am mexican but i always get called white ! My husband is indian like native american indian and everyone always thinks hes mexican and it really pissed him off because people  think they know just because of our skin color i guess i do look white but i have the nopal on my frente !  I speak spanish fluently Im teaching my husband and my son to speak it  and I have alot of mexican influences in my life I cook mexican food and we have alot of cubanos in our family so I have alot of there influences in our familiy life cooking and heritage !

 Unless I know what country your from I would say your Hispanic. Thats what people around here want to be referd to as. On a side note my Uncle Pulled a guy over the other night. My Uncle is fluent in spanish and could tell this guy was not from Mexico. But he tried to argue for about 20 mins. Untill my Uncle saw all the Honduras stuff in his car. He was like your from Honduras right? And the guy just kinda shook his head and was like...yeah....

well ..i do not call mexicans ..latinos. im half white /and argentinian. I look a damm white girl to some people but i speak and understand spanish fluently. I consider myself hispanic of south america. My husband is from El Salvador and we have 2 children . I love my heritage !

people think im white all the time.One time when me and hubby started dating we went to guitar center. we were with a bunch of friends and things got out of hands and they stated doing really dumb stuff inside the store and i was trying to stay away from them. This lady turns around and tells me "it had to be a mexican to not know how to act in public' it was funny but i told her  a few "words"and in spanish. lmfao

LOL ! last night my husand and I went to get new cell phones and the guy that was helping us was mexican and he kept trying to talk to my husband in spanish finally my husband told him thats hes not mexican hes indian from new mexico. well the guy got a personal phone call on his cell phone and hes was talking to the person on the other end in spanish telling them that we were taking forever and that as soon as he can get us to make up our f'...in minds he would go home. well I told him very nicely in spanish that hes a moron and I was going to report him to the managers. needless to say we got two $300 phones for free unlimted everything plus a home phone for $90 a month including insurace and a monthly 18% discount through the entire contract ! I love speaking spanish !
