I followed the 5-1-1 rule and they still sent me home!

I  was in labor all day, starting at 5am. I waited and I waited and things progressed slowly. I waited until, when contractions hit, I couldn't ever remain standing, speaking or anything. They were 5 minutes apart, lasting 1 minute, and stayed that way for an hour and a half before I went to the hospital at about 8pm.

Once I got there I was only 1cm and stayed that way for an hour so they sent me home with some painkillers, which I took. They promised that the painkillers would either help the pain so I could rest or make the contractions stronger. It's been 4 hours since I got sent home and now the contractions are every 3 minutes, but they're the same intensity. I still can't sleep. And I'm PISSED.

I'm sorry! Can you try getting in the bath or taking a hot shower? I haven't ever been in labor, so I really don't know what helps, but I'm sorry!

I hate that! One time they sent me home and I took castor oil and it started labor. Another time I went up and down a flight of stairs while I was having contractions and then when I got my show I went to the hospital and had my daughter in minutes! (no doctor was even called yet) when you hit your due date and you get sent home it sucks!

i would go back....

with my DD i had contractions at 2am, waited until about 11am to go to the hospital.  by 12pm they admitted me, bc my contractions were about 2 min apart lasting (i was not dilated at all).

and my DD was born 3:52pm

if your that uncomfy go back and make them induce you... but if you dont want to be induced then there is nothing they can do but to send you home.

good luck

Darn it!  I thought for sure you were going to have had that baby of yours by now.
