My Sister's Keeper (Spoiler Alert)

I didn't know when I'd get a chance to see the movie, so I read the book, which I LOVED.  I ordered the movie through On Demand last night and GAAAAAAAAAAAAH!  Seriously, WHAT were they thinking?  You can't just arbitrarily change the ending because you like it better this way.  It was so lame.  And what was up with that Kelly character?  The sister in the book was Zanne and she came in once in awhile, she didn't live there.  They completely omited Julia.  The whole thing was just a mess!  I can't believe they changed it so drastically.
Anyone else read the book then see the movie and think, "WHAT THE HELL!?"  LOL

LOL. They usually don't have ANY problem EVER changing anything they need in the movies that are made from the books. I haven't read the book, but, the movie was sooo sad.

Right, but the thing is, in the book, Kate didn't die!  Not exactly a minor change.

yes, I was disappointed, but I was warned ahead of time that the ending was different.

I kind of liked her sister in the movie, Kelly...she was sassy...lol.

Also, I hated that they took out Julia.

and I liked book version Jesse better than movie version Jesse.

other than that, I think they followed the book pretty decently...compared to what others do when they turn a book to a movie.

I liked how they had the different narrations like in the book.

Also, it bugged me that they changed the age of Anna and Kate...I dont know why, but it did.

Haha, it totally irked me that it was based in Los Angeles isntead of Providence, Road Island.  I also much preferred book Jesse.  I know in movies, some details will get lost and that Jesse had to be one of characters who suffered.  That didn't bug me so much.  It was the whole having the wrong character die thing.  It just irked me.

I dont know, in my mind, I pictured Jesse to be a total hardass and in the movie he was a wuss...I hated that because he was one of my favorite characters in the book.
