Old Wives Tale

My son is 2 1/2 months old and already lifting his head.  I've had three people tell me that him doing it so early means that I'll be pregnant soon.  I have never heard such a thing.

I have two older children (13 & 4) and can't really remember when they lifted their heads but they were both early sitters and walkers.

Anyone ever heard this particular wives tale?

ETA -  I guess I should clarify that he's lifting his head from a sitting position as if he's tryng to sit up..  He was lifting his head at he hospital, as well.

Nope. But since we're on the topic....lol. When I was pregnant I used to get heartburn all the time. My mom said that this meant that my child would be born with alot of hair, lol. Wouldn't you know.... my child was born with no hair!

Yes -I've heard it

Is it true-NO!!

My daughter was raising her head at the hospital before I brought her home and I Never got pregnant again.  Some kids just do things early.

I have never heard that one before...

my son was raising his head before he was a month old...he's only 6wks now...

also, only two old wives' tales were true for me: I had tons of heartburn and I carried all out front...

my son was born with a full head of hair (which surprised my mom bc none of us (me or my brothers) were born with hair...lol) and he was a boy (lol, the wording of that sounds funny).

I've never heard that.....but, my son lifted his head the first time I held him after he was born. He's now 18 months, and I'm just now pregnant for the second time.

Never heard that one before.  But my youngest was holding his head up before his cord was clamped(we delayed that); and I sure haven't gotten pregnant again.  LOL  I also carried ALLLLLLL over with both of my boys(so that out front was a lie); and I had horrendous heartburn....and bald babies.  LOL  Damn tales.

Never heard of it but its not true. Both of my kids were holding their heads up in the hospital and I did not get pregnant right away.I got pregnant 2 years later after each one but everyone was planned and if we would of had it our way I would of got pregnant sooner then I did.

That is THE dumbest wives tale I've ever heard, LOL.  A baby being able to lift his head has no bearing whatsoever on your fertility and sexual habits. I often wonder where these wives tales come from.
