Hey Ladies,
I went shopping today at Walmart for Black Friday and was thoroughly disappointed. I arrived at 4:30 am, 30 minutes before the actual sale started only to find that the shopping had already started. The track suits that I wanted to purchase for my son were gone and the sale hadn't even started! I even asked an employee and they said there was nothing they could do! I found it a little ridiculous that the employees could not stop people from shopping before the sale started.
I did appreciate how they handled the big ticket items at our store this year! They passed out tickets and then you stood in line. THat way you knew you had a ticket and the item. It eliminated some of the chaos and confusion.
Checking out was another story and took almost an hour, but I expected that. I figured it could have been a lot worse line than what it was! Overall I am thankful and happy for what I got, just a little disappointed that customers decided the sale was going to start early and no one stopped them. At 10 till 5 there was a line of people waiting to check out and the sale had not yet started!
What was everyone else's black Friday experience like at Walmart? Did you have lots of hassle or was it smooth sailng? DId you get everything you wanted or needed.
Nothing was wrapped at our store! Everything was supposed to be on sale at 5am, nothing could be purchased until then and customers were supposed to wait until then. THe employees were in charge of handing out tickets and were told they couldn't do anything about people putting stuff in their cart!
well that sucks, but at least you got a couple good things. im supposed to go with my friend today but its already 10am so im not sure if we're gonna find anything good by the time we get out!
do you live in SC? lol. that is the same thing that happened to me. i get there and everything is picked thru. it was so unfair. our walmart stayed open all night so people just shopped then walked around until 5. the one thing i wanted the most was 2 bikes for my boys and they were gone before 5 a.m. this was my first time and my last. it was very crowded but everyone including the employees were really nice.
The clothes you can take when they put them out. They only stop you if you are trying to take the big ticket items. My husband worked for walmart a few years ago and that is how it was. That is how it was last year too while we were there. I didn't go this year but my husband, mother in law and father in law all went last night. They got everything they wanted.
We just got home. We went to Sears, JC penney, toys r us, target and then walmart last. Luckily we got everything we wanted.
I did run into some crazy lines at walmart ...but ended up finding a register in the lawn and garden section and only waited about 20 minutes, not too bad.
I know I heard a rumor that if your walmart was opening at midnight that you would be alowed to grab the items, but not purchase them until 5am...that probably stunk for anyone in that situation.
I stayed away from Walmart this year. Went shopping at Target instead...

When I called my walmart they said they wouldn;t be stopping anyone from shopping or wrapping items, in an attempt to hold people off from the rush.
