I just talked to a lady that absolutely refuses to put her children in sweatpants or anything like sweatpants for school.  She thinks they look bad, so she wont allow it.   Even though her children ask for "comfy pants" she still wont let them wear them unless they are in the house for the night.  I guess I just didnt realize that anyone disliked sweats so much.  How do you guys feel about sweatpants and whatnot for school?

I kinda understand....We wear sweats as comfy pants.  Outside to play, laying around the house, even the park or grocery store.  We don't wear them to school or most public places.  If my kids hated jeans, maybe I would reconsider, but I dont care for sweats either.

i went to catholic school all my life so we had uniforms.  if someone has the werewithall to insist on their kids dressing decently for school, more power to them.  i wish i did.  i remember my dad having a fit if we wore jeans to church.  now jeans is dress up for me.  i wish it were different.

My 7 year old DD is a cheerleader and lives in sweatpants and "parade pants".  Getting her out of them would be impossible.  I honestly prefer her to be comfortable especially at school because then she can focus more on learning and less on what she is wearing.

i would if it was like a matching pants and jacket type of thing, but not just regular sweatpants and a shirt.

I don't like them.  I wouldn't probably let my kids wear the suit... maybe the sweatpants that are not elastic at the bottom (those are a definate no way) and a cute shirt with nice athletic shoes.  Certainly not every day though.  I want my kids to be comfortable, but look presentable.  Sweat pants are fine for gymnastics, track practice... they just aren't something I'd dress them in all the time.  Definately not a set... matching sweatshirt and sweatpants.  YUCK! Who cares though.  I don't care if others do and no one should care what I choose to do.

my son is 4 he only goes to head start, but i have no problem sending him in sweatpants or just plain cotton pants. he does wear jeans sometimes.

i just want him to be comfy and thats what he is most comfortable in. if it looks bad....oh well. :)

I just bought my 3 yr old 5 pairs along with her jeans, skirts and other items for winter/ school. i dontthink they look bad and she likes them cause there cozy and soft so i dont see the peroblem with them. she picked them out and i let her pick her own clothes (with in reason lol). maybe if they were torn up or shabby looking i wouldnt let her leave the house in them but i see nothing wrong with wearing them. JMO.
