So im interested in hearing everyones birth stories! My middle sons is my favorite lol. but ill tell you about my oldests and youngests too.

Oldest son-well it was 10 days before my due date and I had a dr's appointment. I ended up being 4 centimeters dialated and since my hospital was an hour away and I was considered high risk due to my age (i was 15) they told my mom to take me in. I was at the hospital for 12 vhrs before my son was born at 12:22 am weighing 7lbs 3 0z. I had pushed for almost 2 hrs and they had started talking csection. I didnt feel much though because my mom and doctors pushed my epidural way before i had even really felt an contraction and I just did what they said,in return I couldnt feel anything to push!!! O and it was xmas eve and I bawled my eyes out because my 6 yr old sister wasnt going to get xmas in the morning, but it worked out she got it the next day and never knew lol.

Youngest son- Well this one was a planned induction at 36 weeks. I think my doctor got my due date wrong personally because I was measuring at 2 weeks overdue!!! I was so big people were asking me if I was having twins and I could barely walk. My doctor warned me that he could have lung problems because it was a little to early but I went with my instinct. The other reason for being planned was my history of fast labor..doc said she was afraid I'd give birth in the parking lot if I wasnt induced. I was in labor for about 2 hrs when my baby was born at 10:16 am weighing a whopping 8 lbs 14 oz!!! O and I got an epidural which I promised myself I wouldnt, the nurses made me nervous about it and I caved...It took 24 hrs to wear off in my right leg and I fell once when they tryed to move me....epidurals suck (for me atleast lol)

My middle son- this ones my favorite. So first off my sons father had been in an accident while I was 6 months pregnant, his insurance didnt cover it so we had no car...and my hospital was an hour away. So I ate papa johns pizza that night which always makes me sick!! I wake up at like 3 am feeling like I have to poop I go try but nothing. So I go try to lay back down but the feeling wouldnt go away. I figured its just from the pizza and I try to fall back asleep..I layed there for about an hour when it started to turn to pain so I wake up my boyfriend and tell him I think I might be in labor but im not sure. So I call my doctor and sahe tells me that if I can make the pain go away by changing positions then its just braxton hicks and to go back to bed..so I tryed to lay back down when I got a huge contraction. I literally leaped up off the couch (walking made them feel better) So my boyfriend called his sister to take us to the hospital..she lived 20 minute away..so we waited, then she had to take me to the closer hospital because I woulds not have made it an hour. They rushed me into the room and checked me,well I was fully dialated and his head was crowning. My a** was begging the doctor for some pain meds I mean BEGGING lol. They sent my boyfriend down to register me at the hospital and when he walked in I was screaming at the nurse that I wouldnt push until one of them went to get him and she was screaming back at me. But I was honestly at the hospital for 5 minutes and I was done. He was born at 6:06 am weighing 8lbs even. this was my best birth experience because even though I was in pain, it made it so much easier to push and get him out because pushiong eases the pain Plus knowing I did it with no pain killers gives me a certain extra pride lol. But I can say if it had taken any longer I might have gotten up and went to steal some pain medicine lol.

So lets hear yours:

I was 43 weeks with my DD when I was forced to induce.  I laboured for 15 hours until I was forced to get an epidural.  I didn't dialate and she didn't drop.  I don't remember much except for the terror and horror but at some point I was rushed into a c-section and everyone was yelling.

I woke up the next day and had a baby.

It was a horrible experience.  :(  I really hope next time is a good one!!

On 2/12 I woke up at 4am having pain that was occurring every 6-7 min and lasting for about a min. I had a 9:45 am OB appointment . As I was getting out of the car I felt a little wet. Figured I had pee'd myself.Went to the office did the usual check in and then go pee in a cup. The doctor was going to do a dilation check as well as an U/S for position.Well she gets ready to do the dilation check and stops. She asked me if my water broke. I told her about what happened when we got there. So she tests the fluid, does a dilation check and tells me that I am going to the hospital because my water had broke and I was at 4cm (my appt on the 10th I was at 1cm). So I go home make arrangements for my client and head to the hospital at noon. On the way we call my doula and leave a msg about what is going on. So we get settled in they have a hard time getting the monitors to stay in place. Luckily I was only having to be on them intermittently. My doula arrived at 3pm to assist Alex and me. The nurses got a little ticked that I refused an IV and would only do a heplock if my dr ordered something to be on board. One nurse even came in and tried to scare me about my decisions in my birth plan. Poor Alex was getting more and more upset as she kept on. My doula was an absolute godsend. She helped remind Alex about keeping me hydrated. As we went for our walks if Id get a contraction she'd show Alex different techniques to help me work through them. I don't think I would have gotten as far as I did without her. My doctor came by at 5pm. She said she figures I more than likely won't have Edwin until the 13th. However, should he decide to make an appearance she lives right down the street. She also told the nurse that we would treat things as if Id come in preterm (just observe). At 1am on 2/13 baby had dropped to -1 station, 5cm, 95% effaced and I started to get extremely awful back labor. We walked, we rocked and rolled on my birth ball, they tried massage, I listened to the hypnobabies CD's. At one point Alex was massaging pressure points on one foot, my mother was on the other foot and the doula was massaging my back. I later found out that Alex and my doula were able to actually feel my contractions in my back when they were massaging me through each one. My doula told me she had never felt anything like them before (she told me this after Edwin had arrived). At 1:30 am I gave in and requested a pain med to be placed in a heplock for me. I felt so bad at this point for requesting it. Alex was absolutely wonderful he told me that everything was okay and that he was proud of me and that he would have never been able to do as I had done. My doctor ordered me Stadol. The first dose helped me get through the contractions until 2:30. I could still feel them but they were tolerable. The second dose of stadol was administered at 2:30. It absolutely did nothing for my contractions. At 4am I made the hardest decision my whole labor and asked for an epidural. At this point both Alex, my doula and my mom gave me awesome support with my decision. With the Epi I was finally able to get some rest. I slept from about 5am until 9am. At noon I was station +1, 8cm and 100% effaced so since I had the epi there was no way I could naturally work on helping dilation I agreed to Pitocin. At 2pm I was 10cm, station +1, 100%. My nurse called my doctor to see what she wanted to do. At 2:30 we began pushing. They had me grab ahold of a sheet and used Alex as counter weight while I pushed. Due to the Epi I could not feel the contractions to push so I was doing coached pushing and I was not getting anywhere with these pushes. At 3:30 the nurse asked me about stopping the epi to assist with me feeling when I needed to push.I agreed. At 4pm I started pushing again. This time with me using the handles on the bed, Alex holding one leg and my doula holding the other. My doctor arrived at 4:15pm and Edwin was born at 4:37pm. He was immedately placed on my chest. Alex and I wiped him down. He nused and then was taken for weight, length and vit K. All this was done in the room right next to me.  He had a double nuchel cord, was sunny side up (which now explains the back labor), 7lbs, 10 oz, 21 inches long. Found out after he was born that he truely is my miracle baby. I had a velamentous cord insertion. Which basically means that instead of the cord implanting in the placenta then membrane it was first in the membrane and then placenta which leaves the cord vessels unprotected. Also his membrane was infected.

New Years day this year at 1207pm I went into labor. Went to the hospital around 2pm or so, they said I wasnt dialated enough and to come back around 6 or 7. So we drove around, got something to eat. By 630 I couldnt take the pain anymore so we went in and I got admitted. The nurse who did the IV mustve did it wrong because it hurt the whole time it was in, left bruises and a scar. Got my epi, chilled out a bit, watched cartoons. I noticed my eye was droopy so I mentioned it to the nurse. She said I had a high block and lowered the epi. About 5-10 minutes later I was feeling enormous pressure and immense pain, so they turned the epi back up, but it didnt work and I still felt everything.

When the contractions were super close, and I was screaming so loud that Im positive the whole hostpial heard me, they kept on having me switch positions because the babys heartbeat was declining. They rushed me into an OR, just in case, and I pushed for a little over 45min. Out came the baby. I was super tired. Healthy baby girl, although the nurses were stupid they came up with 3 different birth weights. I hope next time my epi works.

With my first, I worked the whole time.  I worked that Friday and I was grumpy as hell, one of my fellow Paramedics said "I hope to God you deliver that baby this weekend, I am sick of you being so mean."  Sunday morning arrived and I started having contractions, and thought they were those false ones.  I was lying in bed and felt some really bad pressure and felt a pop.  I got up and water just flooded the carpet.  I called the doctor while my DH took the skids to their grandmas.  The nurse at the hospital told me I was not due for another 3 weeks and since it was my first baby, I was probably not in labor.  She actually told me I must have peed on myself.   told her she was a complete dumb-ass and did not need a nursing licence.  DH came back and drove me to the hospital and that same nurse checked me.  I was already  dilated to around 5 by then.  My son was born in about 2 hours.  He has yet to slow down, and is the most impatient person I know.

Youngest, I woke up about 830am with a hard contraction and soon after got up, took a shower, brushed my teeth, got my bag and went to the hospital.  I checked in and 20 minutes later I was holding and nursing her and asking when I could go home lol.  Whole labor was like 2 or 2.5 hours.

Oldest, amniotic leak over 24 hours, they started pitocin, she was posterior and asynclitic, I was in severe pain so I got the epidural.  Epidural wore off within like 2 hours so I was back in severe pain.  Baby was getting stressed and had a bowel movement so they started the uterine flushing device and attached an intrauterine monitoring device.  Pain, pain and more pain and vomiting then pushing and pushing and pushing..... 4 hours and 15 minutes of pushing later her head was vaccuumed out with the help of a 4th degree episiotomy and huge rip.  They suctioned her lungs for meconium telling me not to push but she was stuck anyways.  Then the doc realized she had shoulder dystocia and had to pop her shoulder to get her out the rest of the way.  Then off the NICU they rushed her.  This is an extremely shortened version, my labor was over 26 hour with her.

I forgot to add that my middle son was the only one who I got to see right away, they layed him on my chest right after birth and I got to hold him.

My oldest had swallowed a bit to much amniotic fluid and was rushed away tro have his lungs checked due to it (i guess) I didnt get told much with him and it always makes me so mad to think about..Its like they though just because I was young I didnt care what was happening.

My youngest started coming out shoulder first instead of head first. The nursse had to literally punch me in the pelvis to realign him. His neck was slightly injured due to this so he was also rushed away to be sure he was ok. He still has weak muscles in one side of his neck and I have to excersice it.

Wow sounds like you had a hard labor!! Good for you for holding out so long on the epi!! I insisted I didnt want one with my youngest but ended up getting it before I even had much pain..The fear of the pain just got ahold of me! Im glad he was ok after all of that too!!!!
