Well it's Hannah first till she needs a break then one of us will open one of ours. I will have to get a bit more organized when I have anothe one. Also next year are are starting the "something you want, something you need, something you wear something you read" we are going to do that for each other too, but, for her she will get 2 or 3 of each and we will just get one of each.
how about xmas dinner? we like to go out if we don't go to my mom's
thanksgiving dinner?? I always make a traditional dinner with all the fixins
xmas cards??? Haven't in the past but I am going to start this year
new years?? the only tradition that we actually have for this one is that we always put change on the deck and on New years day the first thing we do is go get the change so we can start out the new year with bringing money into the house.
When I was a kid we had a tradition that we would not dring egg nog until we put up our tree, I could not uphold this one when I moved out because I just love it so much, lol
With Hannah's first Christmas we started buying her at least one ornament a year having to do with whatever she is really into, so when she moves out she will take all her ornaments with her...I think I need to find a way to document them... This year she witll get a Princess Tiana ornament and I am hoping an Eiffel tower too.

well, for thankgiving, we do the normal dinner, and i try a new dish each year... i do as much baking as i can the day before, and do the turky and such the day of... we let the kids pick out movies(hubs is not huge into football, and its been years sence ive watched... i miss it)and watch them... im up and down, lol... we eat, then we veg out with the movies, and email/call family....
for xmas...we set up our tree within days after thankgiving... we all decorate it, while eating cookies(oh, i need to bake some tonight, lol)and drinking hot coco and listening to xmas music...... all month, two days a week, we watch xmas movies and let the boys stay up late... xmas eve i spend the day backing(well, i9 bake all month really, lol) that night we do popcorn and hot coco, and watch movies till the kids crash, and we put cookies out for santa.... xmas morning, we have breakfast, and let the boys open there presents!!!! spend all day veging out... we also buy the boys a new orniment each year, a personalized one with there name, the year, and what xmas is it... we do a family one each year also.. with the year, and our names....i also put up houses
for xmas cards, we get a family pic(doen with self timer)under the tree, and go to walmart and use those....

my favorite holiday tradition involves torture and humilation.. as any good tradition should.
my husband's family is lithuanian and they celebrate "coucher" which is basically a big christmas eve celebration.
part of this party is santa.... but who the hell wants to sit in that damn suit in a house stuffed to the brim with about 70 lithuanians.... 100 degrees in a tiny house?
not me my friend... not me.
so, what does any really screwed up family do?
they get liquored up then stuff which ever poor, foolish young man is dumb enough to come to his lithuanian girl friend's grandmother's house. it's usually a "newbie"
and the best is... i'm such a bitch! lol
they will be sitting there wondering who's getting into the suit, and there i am with a glass of wine, smiling saying " you are!"
and they say " no really... who's wearing the suit"
then about 8 lithuanians start staring at the young man while i smile and say "no really... it's you, get into the suit!"
nothing says welcome to the family like being paraded around in a santa suit for your girl friend's family's... children's amusement!
welcome to the family son.. now get into the suit!
