potty training--day one

 *phew* I'm exhausted. And its only 5 oclock!! 3 more hours to go, and we made it through day one of our potty training ventures.

I'm using the 3 day method. I work full time and so finding the time to train her is hard! Fortunately I've been blessed with a 4 day weekend and so I started today!

So far we've had 6 accidents. My back is killing me from rushing DD up and down the stairs and cleaning pee off the floor :~) DDs abuela and mimi really helped though, and bought her some training panties--panties with a really thick crotch area to minimize the mess. Thank heavens for that invention!! My head is fuzzy from cajoling DD to sit on the potty one more time, and bribing her. Bribery? No way. I swore I never would. But here I am, yup. "You can have a sticker if you go pee pee for me!" "You can play with mama's telephone if you go peepee!"

So far no noticable changes. She DID stay dry through an hour and a half nap!! Woohoo!! She hasn't told me once that she's had to go. Its more like, "uh-oh mama! Pee pee floor!"

I'm tryin to keep the happy face on! Its hard when I've had a rough day with the kind-of S/O (DDs papi, who bailed on me by nap time!!) and a tired toddler (who got woken up from her nap by some enthusiastic pounding on my front door. Thanks, mom). But I'm trying, and we're almost through today. Tomorrow will be better. I swear it will be . . .
