fibbing vs. lying

in your home, do you use the term fibbing or lying...or both?

do you think there is a difference between fibbing and lying?

No, I don't think there is a difference.  Lying is lying period.

Not telling the truth is lying, fibbing, dishonesty...whatever you want to call it...it all means the same thing at my house and any form is punishable!

I agree with the pp regardless of how you put it lying is lying.

I do think there is somewhat of a difference. In my home, fibbing is more of a joking thing that isn't doing any harm or getting anyone into trouble. Kinda like, "mommy there's a monster in my room" I respond, "are you fibbing??" Lying is, well, lying. We all know what that is.
