Professional pic question

We had our first family pics took last weekend, and got them back today. Dh went and picked them up while i was sleeping from my black friday adventers.....I am not happy with the quality of the photos...Some of the coloring is off, and she cropped 5 photos that i needed to be verdical to a horzonal shot..now its useless to me. She calles her self a professional photographer, and while her work is acceptable, her printing is not. Its printed on kodak paper, not high quality either, and looks like i printed it off my printer here at home.....I paid 305 for these pictures (yes alittle over the top but hey first baby and family photos) What would you do? She seems to be a nice person and going through alot right now, but she should seperate her personal life from her professional life ( i know its hard to do, but the quality of her work shouldnt be like this) So question is, would you say something? What would you do?

You can ask her to recrop the photos how you wanted them. Did she have a clause in her contract about a discounted or free reshoot if you werent happy with the results? It sounds like she is printing from a home printer or from WalMart which is subpar quality to be calling yourself a professional. She should be printing for a real lab. I'm not sure how much you can get back or if you can get anything at all. Did you see her previous work/portfolio? If her results are not meeting the standard she "promised" with her porfolio/website, then technically you can take her to small claims court for breech of contract I believe. It's a lot to go through I know. But if she has an iron clad contract, there are only so many ways out of it. If she is cool like you said, she may be willing to reshoot or refund your money.

You can also send her this link Mpix.com They will print for anyone, but they are pro quality. I print through the same company under a different name that only prints for licensed professionals.

I would tell her that the printing is sub par and needs to be redone, and tell her just what you told us.
