Freaking Out! So Worried and Scared!(long)

I just talked to my step mom.  My dad had a heart attack and they found out that he has emphasima(or how ever you spell it).  I was told not to come down tonight since I am suppost to work(we live over an hour away) I agreed so I wouldnt upset him but I am seriously freaking out!!!!  My dad is the only parent I have.  My mother is still alive but she and I do not speak due to a lot of issues between the two of us.  My grandmother and my father were the only ones I had growing up.  My grandmother died about 6 years ago of cancer so my dad is the only one left.

He has always been so strong and dependable.  I guess you could say that I never grew out of the stage where every child views their father as a super hero, cause to me that is what my dad was.

He over came a drug and alcohol addiction about 8 years ago when his first grandchild(my dd) was born.  He has worked his ass off most of his life in a factory and on a farm.  He fell in love with his high school sweetheart all over again when they remet 6 years ago and they were finally married 2 years ago.  He has been there and supported me every step of the way the last 5 years since getting divorced, going through a very unstable relationship and being a single mom.  But most of all he is my Daddy.

I knew with him turning 60 this year that anything could happen at any time.  I have always worried about that.  I know he is going to be fine for now but it still just brings it all into reality a little too soon for me.  I really dont know what I would do without him or my step mom.

Sorry, my DF is at work and couldnt talk long.  Just needed to get those feelings out before I exploded.  Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

I'm so sorry to hear this but my grandma has emphazima (SP?) and has had it for more than 10 years.  So its not a death sentence.  He may need to be on oxygen or use breathing treatments and inhalers, but he should still be able to live a long time depending on how bad the diagnosis is.  My thoughts are with your family in this hard time.
