Just curious...Recalled cribs?

I wondered how many mommies have had their childrens cribs recalled lately? And which crib it was? Mine was the recall the came out in either June or July (cant remember) and it was a Simplicity crib? And also curious what was the outcome of the recall? Where you able to get a kit to fix it, or did you have to get a new crib? We had to get a new crib, because there is no fix it kit for it and we couldnt take it back to the store that it was purchased at. I was just curious what everyone elses experiences were with this.

Mine was recalled but we are using as a toddler bed now so the recall didn't really matter to us!

Same here...storkcraft crib just recently recalled due the drop side.  We've already converted it to a toddler bed.

DD's was a Simplicity also. It was recalled last winter. I got it for my baby shower, a year before the recall. I had no receipt. I had to go to 3 Walmarts before they would honor the recall. One told me they would give me $60 because I had no box, no receipt. The second said the recall had expired (They don't expire!!!!) And finally I had to call the Walmart customer service myself and get the 3rd Walmart to take it! But I got more than what my mom and grandmom paid for it because they got it in Delaware (no sales tax) and the Walmart that took it back, in Maryland,  gave me the value as if I bought it there, tax included, lol!

Mine was recalled but ds hasn't used his crib in almost two years. And honestly by the time we would have another we would probably just replace the crib, I ended up not liking it.

Wow, good for you! Our Simplicity crib was a gift also, given to us before my 17 month old was born. So it was probably purchased at least 18 months ago, and it was purchased from Kmart. Kmart was not so helpful with taking it back. Doesnt surprise me any, I cant stand Kmart.

Mine was one of the ones recalled in June or July.We had called the store we got it from but they wouldn't take it back, said they only take them back up to a certain month and we were past that month.Gave us a number to call but lost the number. We don't have the money to buy a new crib right now so we are still using it for our 20 month old.He sleeps in our room in his crib next to our bed.Still scares me a bit but nothing I can do about it since we cant afford a new one nor can we just lay the crib mattress down on the floor because our room is not really baby proofed(things like boxes and stuff on the floor) and I am not willing to baby proof it either because I am expecting again,we will be moving in a few months as we need more room. When tax season comes we will be buying a new crib for the new baby as we will have the money then.

We just bought one from Babies R Us. We havent taken it out of the box yet, but it was around $130 and is a Delta Jenny Lind non-drop side crib. I dont know if you have a Babies R Us near you, but I think this is a good deal. And at least I dont have to worry about it having a drop-side anymore!

Ugh yea see sadly to say we cant even afford that right now.We moved which was a mistake but SO was suppose to have a job with my moms husband making what he made before we moved and well 3 days after we moved he informed us that he was unable to hire SO,so SO does a job now making alot less.Hes only making $12 an hour which is only $800 every other week, sometimes less.We are lucky if we even have extra money left over after paying our rent, bills, food etc.He is looking for another job and if we had the money trust me we would of had a new crib months ago.
