Isn't that special

I just found out that the hormone replacements I was taking due to my hysterectomy can cause tooth decay and abscesses.  A month ago my dentist found 8 abscesses and I have already have had to get two teeth removed.  I still have another 2 to get.  I am going to end up toothless at this rate.  Does anyone know of a herbal supplement or something I can do other than the obvious dental hygiene?  I am really upset about this because I used to have wonderful teeth.  Now I have one missing in the front on the side and my back teeth are gone and I have trouble chewing.  I would love to know of any suggestions.  If you don't know of any please bump.  Thank you.

Is there any holistic people out there?

I'd be talking to my Gyno or whomever prescribed the hormone replacements. That is what is causing the dental issues so that would be my first thought. There's got to be something else you can take for that hormone issue. The health of your teeth and gums has a lot to do with the health of the rest of your body. How long have you been on the hormone replacers?

I have been taking them since last November.  I was going to ask to change my prescription anyway because I feel like a crazy woman.  My aunt was on the same pills after her hyst. and she said it was the worse she has ever felt.  The thing is that my dr. won't be back until Monday.  I can't stop taking them or I would.  I already have facial hair I have to deal with.  I do not want a full beard.lol

Oh my goodness...I wish I knew what my mom was taking..she had her hysterectomy about 10 years ago i think. I don't ever remember her having issues with the hormone replacements. Her teeth were rotting out of her head anyway so i wouldn't have noticed that. I hope your doc can figure something out for you!! It's enough to have to loose your uterus and all without having to deal with extra freakin hair and dental problems!! Good luck!

I'm sorry that happened to you. Here's a bump!

"Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy. It does not boast. It is not proud. It is not rude. It is not self-seeking. It is not easily angered. It keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices in the truth. It always trusts, always protects, always hopes, always perserveres." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
