Is it just me or do you love nursing your toddler too? My DD is almost 15 months (will be on the 13thof December) and she just woke up from a nap and she nursed...and I love it. She just sits on my lap and nurses until she's done (normally only 10-15 minutes). It's so cute! I never thought we'd get to this stage (I have tubular breasts so it makes it hard to breastfeed period, but we've made it with no formula whatsoever, woo hoo!), but now that we're here, I LOVE it. She only nurses about 5-8 times a day, but I cherish every moment she nurses. She's just so cute when she nurses. Nursing a toddler is SO much different than nursing a newborn or a baby....she definitely knows what she wants WHEN she wants it, lol.
Anyway, anyone have any toddlers that are nursing right now? Do you like it? Do you not like it?
(PS--- if you don't believe in extended breastfeeding or child-led weaning and are only going to leave ignorant comments, it's not appreciated. I'll just over look them. Ignorance is not cool for me and I'll just leave it be. I'm not one for drama. I just got done nursing DD after she got up from a nap and wanted to make a post.)

I'm Kristina. I'm a married (to my high school sweetheart, Bobby), breastfeeding (and child-led weaning), co-sleeping, baby wearing, ERF, solid delaying, vegetarian (for over 16 years), vaccinating, disposable diapering, gentle disciplining, full-time college student, House MD loving, anorexia, self-injury and sexually abuse recovering, Fibromyalgia suffering SAHM to a handsome boy (Daniel Matthew 5.5.07) and my darling little boobie monster (Ryleigh Madison 9.13.08).

People need to understand that when they're deciding between breastmilk and formula, they're not deciding between Coke and Pepsi.... They're choosing between a live, pure substance and a dead substance made with the cheapest oils available. ~Chele Marmet

Good for you, mama. It's way healthier anyways. I sadly do not have a toddler, but I'll let you know when I do. =P
LOL, I have two! A 2 1/2 year old (he's not nursing) and a 14 month old DD. It's crazy!
And you're right, it IS healthier. DD drinks soy or goat milk if someone else is watching her (since I have tubular breasts I can't pump to save my life, lol!) ...but she LOVES the boobies! lol.

I think it is wonderful that you are still nursing your precious DD. I was only able to nurse 1 out of 2 of my children. I nursed my oldest for 14 months! He never once had a drop of formula. I had flat nipples so it was by far the hardest thing to do... but formula was just not an option for us. And with the help of a nipple shield we did it!! With baby boy #2, I had a horrible time getting him to latch on and his mouth was too small for the nipple shield. Then I had some medical issues and my milk was green and toxic. (long story... my gall bladder was so full of gall stones that my common bile duct was clogged and I literately was poisoning myself). But I think it is so special and I encourage you too breastfeed as long as you and DD find fit for YOURSELVES. It is a very personal choice!! =)
I don't know... I plan to BF this baby when she arrives. Only 5-8 times a day? That sounds like a lot. How many times a day do little ones usually BF? I am just curious... I guess I'll find out Monday though!
awww, I am so sorry to hear about your miscarriages!! Good luck on conceiving your baby!!
